Brewers Rout Rays To Even Series

The Milwaukee Brewers (18-11) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (14-17) 8-2 on Tuesday night in Milwaukee. The Rays are now 1-4 on the road trip with the finale coming up against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Milwaukee built a 3-0 lead with a run in the first and two in the second before the Rays got on the board. Jose Siri hit a solo homer in the third to pull the Rays within 3-1, but Milwaukee answered with three more in the fifth. After Richie Palacios drove in a run in the sixth, the Brewers added two more in the seventh to make it 8-2.

Things got tense in the top of the eighth inning - after Jose Siri was out at first place, he and Brewers reliver Abner Uribe exchanged words before punches were thrown. The benches were cleared and both players were ejected.

The Rays will look to win the series with the Brewers in the series finale on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 1:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
